TRAVELLING TO AFRICA

During these trips with our students, the teacher can also practices or reviews other vocabulary. Now, we are travelling to Africa to learn about animals.

TASK 1: GOING ON A SAFARI

Tell your students that they are going to go on a safari to see different animals and how they live. A video that you can use for this listening is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qYObMDJvLY. After they watch the video, the teacher can talk with them about how a safari is, if they see difference with a zoo, if they think that the animals live better, etc.

In this activity the students will practice listening skills and it would be for kids from 5 - 6 grade of primary.

TASK 2: A WILD SAFARI

If you see that the students are still very interested after the video, you could continue with a reading about wild animals. The students will read the information on their own and them will have to answer questions but instead of making a self correction, this time they will put the answers in common to see if they have same answers.

In this activity the students will practice reading skills and it would be for kids from 5 - 6 grade of primary.

TASK 3/4: DESCRIBE YOUR FAVORITE ANIMAL

In this activity, the kids will practice writing and speaking skills. Ask the students to make a description of their favorite animal of Africa. This activity will be divided in two sessions. In the first session, the teacher ask the students to write a presentation (a collage) of their favorite animal and draw a picture of it (in a poster board). In the second session, the students will expose to the class their presentation.

This activities can be for kids from 2 - 6 grade of primary.
